This song was written about Mercedes Gleitze, the first female swimmer to swim the channel, she was not believed and was taken to court and then swam the channel again to prove that she was not lying. inspired by the film Vindication Swim which the Purple Shoes also feature in as a French Gypsy Jazz band.
